Quick answer

A simple business website in Malaysia can start from around RM1,500. A business website of 6 to 20 pages is around RM2,500 to RM5,000, and a big or fully custom one can go up to RM30,000 or more. Then every year you also pay for your domain and hosting.

Why the price is so different

You ask three people and get three prices: RM800, RM3,000, RM15,000. Confusing, right?

It's like asking “how much is a car?” A Kancil and a BMW are both cars. A website is the same. The price depends on what you need it to do.

Usually the price goes up when you need:

  • More pages
  • More special effects and design work
  • Things like booking, online payment or a member login
  • Copywriting, photos and SEO set up properly

My prices, so you have a real example

I'd rather show you real numbers than say “depends” and run away. 😄

Most websites are done in 1 to 3 weeks, and I give you a video guide so you can update simple things yourself.

The yearly cost people forget

After the website is built, two things need to stay active every year:

  • Domain name: your website name, like a car plate. For example, a .com.my is RM80 a year.
  • Hosting: what keeps your website online, like car insurance. My Premium hosting is RM350 a year.

Website + domain + hosting. Know all three before you say yes to any quotation.

Is a cheap website a bad idea?

Not always. But be careful when the price is very low. Ask:

  • Is the domain registered under my name?
  • Can I update the website myself?
  • What happens if I need help after launch?
  • Are there extra charges later?

Lucian's tip

Don't automatically choose the cheapest. Don't assume the most expensive is the best. Look for good work, good value and a reasonable price. No “eh, that one extra ah” later.

So, how much should you spend?

Start with what your business needs today. A clear, fast website that makes people WhatsApp you is better than a fancy one nobody understands.

Not sure which one fits you? Send me your business and what you want the website to do. I'll tell you honestly.

Need a second opinion?

If this is something you are dealing with in your business, you can always message me. If I have an idea that may help, I’ll tell you what I think.
