What's the difference?
Business owners hear these three all the time. But actually, it's very simple. Let me explain it my way.
1Domain name = your car plate number
Car plate: VGU 7792. The plate belongs to the vehicle owner.
Domain name: lucian.my. Works the same way. If the domain is registered under you, you can:
The important thing: know who owns it.
2Web hosting = your car insurance policy
If you want to keep driving the car, the insurance must stay active.
Same thing: hosting is what your website needs to stay online.
And like insurance, hosting needs to be renewed. Usually yearly.
3Website = the car
The car is what actually moves. The plate tells people which car. The insurance keeps it on the road.
Your website is what your customers actually see and use.
Car plate + insurance + car = car can go
Domain + hosting + website = website online

Choose UltraGoogle Workspace and Microsoft 365 subscription fees are charged separately by Google and Microsoft.
Domain name · your car plate
Registered under your ownership. You can renew it, transfer it, move it or sell it in the future.
Simple example
Your domain stays registered. Your hosting stays active. Your website stays online. Simple.
I'll remind you on WhatsApp starting around 1 month before expiry, and follow up for your confirmation. But renewal still needs your reply and payment before the deadline.
If your domain expires
Expired within 7 days
RM200
Restoration handling fee, if the domain can still be recovered. Plus the normal renewal charge.
Expired 7 days to 2 months
RM950
Restoration + backup recovery: domain recovery, hosting restore, website backup, DNS and email setup, and checking the website after.
Only if the domain is still recoverable and the backups are still available. Some domain registries charge their own recovery fees; I'll quote those separately.
Please don't wait until the last day. If customers, Google and your email already know your domain, renewing on time is much easier than recovering it later.
