Facebook Hiring vs Job Portals vs Recruitment Agency: Which Gets Better Staff?
There is no single best place to hire everybody. A method that works for a retail assistant may be terrible for finding an experienced finance manager.

Facebook can be very fast
For general roles, a clear hiring post can spread quickly through local groups, community pages and paid boosts. The advantage is speed. The weakness is that you may receive many unsuitable applications.
Good for
- Retail
- Sales
- Admin
- Customer service
- Operations
Job portals give you more structure
Job portals make it easier to collect resumes and compare candidates. They are useful when applicants are already actively looking for work.
Watch the quality
- Write a clear job description
- State the location
- Explain the real responsibilities
- Do not use a title that sounds bigger than the job
Recruitment agencies are useful for difficult roles
For senior, technical or very specialised people, paying a recruiter can save time. They can search candidates who may not be applying publicly.
Pay when the search is harder
- Specialists
- Managers
- Hard to find skills
- Confidential replacement roles
My view
My personal view is simple. Use the cheapest practical channel for common roles. Pay for professional recruitment when the person you need is genuinely difficult to find.
